The Hughes Inn was established in late 2002 by Sherry & Tom Hughes with the guest in mind to create a “home away from home” atmosphere. Come and enjoy the Mission, Arts and Crafts style bungalow built in 1915 which has been completely updated and restored. Each of our 4 spacious rooms are uniquely decorated and furnished with antiques and collectables of Tom and Sherry’s. All rooms are air conditioned and 3 have ceiling fans for those warm summer nights. Two of the rooms have Queen beds and private bathrooms. One room has a King bed and private bathroom while the fourth room has a Full bed with a shared bathroom. All of the guestrooms have TV’s, radio/alarm clocks, complimentary beverages and snacks. Three of the rooms have comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing. All of our guestrooms include breakfast served in our beautiful red toile decorated dining room. Breakfast will be served at a time to try to accommodate all guests.

   We have the Gathering Room (Café-style lounge) which is a sun room with windows all around overlooking our beautiful, landscaped 2 acre lawn. It has a refrigerator, microwave, cozy furniture, and soft music for our guests to sit, read, relax, and enjoy!

   Guests may choose to relax in the Game Room which is decorated in a Jungle/Safari décor. They can enjoy table games, card games, TV, or a game of Pinball on our antique Pinball machine. They may also like to browse over our collection of antique dolls, toys, and games.

   Guests may choose to relax on our inviting and beautifully decorated Veranda (weather permitting) while sipping on a beverage and listening to soothing music or they may stroll around our beautiful 2 acre back lawn with a creek running past the grounds.

   Our guests will be anxiously (but lovingly) greeted with a big smile by our Golden Retriever “Oscar”, your new best friend!

   We do have gift certificates available for all occasions and we are a member of the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce.
